Step 1: Prepare the Cake Batter
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a jelly roll pan with parchment paper and lightly grease it.

- In a large bowl, beat the eggs and sugar until pale, thick, and fluffy. Mix in the vanilla extract. Gently fold in the flour, baking powder, and salt, then stir in the milk until a smooth batter forms.
Step 2: Bake the Sponge Cake
- Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan.

- Bake for 10–12 minutes or until the cake springs back lightly when touched. Avoid overbaking, as a dry cake is more likely to crack during rolling.
Step 3: Roll the Warm Cake
- Lay a clean kitchen towel on the counter and dust it lightly with powdered sugar.

- Turn the warm cake onto the towel, carefully peel away the parchment paper, and roll the cake up with the towel starting from the short end. Allow it to cool completely while rolled.
Step 4: Make the Peanut Butter Filling
- In a mixing bowl, beat the peanut butter and softened butter until smooth.

- Add powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and heavy cream. Continue mixing until the filling becomes light, creamy, and spreadable.
Step 5: Fill and Re-Roll
- Carefully unroll the cooled cake.

- Spread the peanut butter filling evenly over the surface, leaving a small border around the edges. Gently roll the cake back into a tight spiral without the towel.
Step 6: Chill and Serve
- Place the Swiss roll seam-side down on a serving platter.

- Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before slicing. Garnish with powdered sugar, chopped peanuts, or chocolate drizzle before serving.
