  • 1 can 10 oz diced tomatoes with green chilies
  • 1 small jalapeño
  • ½ cup chopped yellow onion
  • ½ cup fresh cilantro leaves
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cumin

Method
 

Step 1: Prepare the Vegetables
  1. Roughly chop the onion, jalapeño, and cilantro. You do not need to chop them too fine since everything will be blended.

  1. Add whole tomatoes, diced tomatoes, onion, jalapeño, cilantro, garlic, lime juice, salt, sugar, and cumin into your blender.

  1. Pulse the mixture 8–10 times until you get a smooth but slightly chunky restaurant-style texture. Do not over-blend if you like a little texture.

Step 4: Taste and Adjust
  1. Taste your salsa and adjust salt or lime juice if needed. You can add more jalapeño if you prefer extra heat.
