  • 12 manicotti pasta shells
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup parmesan cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley

Method
 

Step 1: Cook the Pasta
  1. Boil the manicotti shells in salted water according to package instructions until tender. Drain carefully and let them cool so they do not tear while filling.

Step 2: Prepare the Cheese Filling
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, 1 cup mozzarella, parmesan cheese, egg, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and parsley. Mix until smooth and creamy.

Step 3: Fill the Manicotti
  1. Use a spoon or piping bag to gently fill each manicotti shell with the cheese mixture without breaking the pasta.

Step 4: Assemble the Dish
  1. Spread 1 cup of marinara sauce in the bottom of a baking dish. Place filled manicotti shells on top and cover with remaining marinara sauce.

Step 5: Add Cheese and Bake
  1. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese over the top. Cover with foil and bake at 375°F for 25 minutes.

Step 6: Finish Baking
  1. Remove foil and bake for another 10 minutes until cheese melts and becomes slightly golden. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
