Step 1: Prepare the Pudding
- In a large bowl, whisk together the instant vanilla pudding mix and cold milk until smooth. Stir in the sweetened condensed milk and let it sit for about 5 minutes to thicken.

Step 2: Make the Cream Mixture
- Beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Add the pudding mixture and vanilla extract, then mix until creamy. Fold in the whipped topping gently.

Step 3: Layer the Dessert
- Arrange a layer of vanilla wafers in the bottom of a baking dish. Add a layer of sliced bananas, then spread part of the pudding mixture evenly over the top.

Step 4: Repeat the Layers
- Continue layering vanilla wafers, bananas, and pudding until all the ingredients are used, finishing with the pudding mixture on top.

Step 5: Chill and Serve
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight. Garnish with whipped cream and crushed vanilla wafers before serving.

Notes
Bananas provide potassium, vitamin B6, and dietary fiber, making them a nutritious addition to this classic dessert. Although it's an indulgent treat, using fresh fruit adds natural sweetness and flavor.
