Method
Step 1: Preheat the Oven
- I always start by preheating my oven to 375°F and greasing the baking pan with butter or cooking spray.

Step 2: Mix the Dry Ingredients
- In a large bowl, whisk together the cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until evenly combined.

Step 3: Combine the Wet Ingredients
- In another bowl, I whisk together melted butter, milk, eggs, and honey until smooth and well blended.

Step 4: Mix Everything Together
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and gently mix until just combined. Don’t overmix, or your cornbread may turn dense.

Step 5: Bake to Perfection
- Pour the batter into your prepared pan and bake for 20–25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Step 6: Cool and Serve
- Let it cool slightly before slicing. I love brushing the top with a little extra melted butter for that authentic BBQ restaurant feel.

Notes
I love serving this cornbread warm with BBQ ribs, pulled pork, or smoked brisket.
