Step 1: Prepare the Pudding
- In a large bowl, whisk together the vanilla pudding mix and cold milk until smooth. Stir in the sweetened condensed milk and vanilla extract, then refrigerate for about 5 minutes to thicken.
Step 2: Make the Cream Filling
- Beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Gradually mix in the chilled pudding mixture until fully combined, then gently fold in the whipped topping.
Step 3: Layer the Dessert
- Arrange a layer of vanilla wafers in the bottom of a serving dish. Top with sliced bananas, then spread a layer of the pudding mixture over the bananas.
Step 4: Repeat the Layers
- Continue layering vanilla wafers, bananas, and pudding until all the ingredients are used, finishing with the pudding layer on top.
Step 5: Chill and Serve
- Cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight. Garnish with whip
Notes
I like making this banana pudding for family gatherings because it's always one of the first desserts to disappear.
Preparing it the night before makes entertaining easier, and the flavors become even better after chilling overnight.
