Method
Step 1: Prepare the Espresso
- Brew the espresso and let it cool completely. Stir in the almond extract for extra flavor.

Step 2: Whip the Cream
- Beat the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Set it aside while preparing the mascarpone mixture.

Step 3: Make the Filling
- Mix mascarpone, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Fold the whipped cream gently into the mascarpone mixture until light and fluffy.

Step 4: Dip the Ladyfingers
- Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the espresso mixture for about one second per side. Avoid soaking them too long.

Step 5: Build the First Layer
- Arrange half of the soaked ladyfingers in the baking dish. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture evenly over them and sprinkle half of the toasted almonds.

Step 6: Repeat the Layers
- Add another layer of dipped ladyfingers. Spread the remaining cream mixture on top and smooth the surface.

Step 7: Chill the Dessert
- Cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 6 hours or overnight. This allows the flavors to blend beautifully.

Step 8: Finish and Serve
- Dust cocoa powder over the top using a fine sieve. Garnish with toasted almonds and chocolate shavings before serving.

Notes
For the best flavor and texture, chill the Almond Tiramisu overnight before serving.
